                          LOUISIANA AND
           THE SIXTH GLORIOUS MYSTERY

(Count the decades of Her rosary!)

THE GLORIOUS RETURN OF HER SON, JESUS!
"The Light" Returns into the darkness of this World!

The praying of the Sixth Glorious Mystery of Our Lady's Rosary, to plead for His return into this world's darkness, began at the Our Lady of  Compassionate Protection Shrine site in Houma, LA on May 17, 1998.  (This additional decade is often called the "Lagniappe Decade".)

There is no doubt that upon Jesus' return, the whole world will absolutely know that His Mother is truly Queen of Heaven and Earth, as we now pray in the Fifth Glorious Mystery.  When He returns in Glory, it will then be known to all that this is not just some childish symbolic title given to Her.  The Catechism of the Catholic Church and Holy Scripture declares Her Greatness!  Please click
here

This, Sixth Glorious Mystery is an additional decade of the rosary that is absolutely optional.  When prayed with faith, it pleases Our Lady and is very efficacious to the return of Her Son.  Think about it!  Can He really refuse such a request to return when it is faithfully prayed as part of His Mother's Rosary!  An act of prayer His Mother has repreatedly asked us to pray for many years.  Think of
Her Fatima messages in 1917.

Does Jesus respond to His Mother?  Remember the interaction between His Mother and Jesus at the wedding in Cana in the
Gospel of John 2: 1-12.  He could not refuse Her there when She requested.  He was needed, She requested, and He responded.  He will again respond to Her here as well, if we pray in faith.  The world needs His return!

The spiritual director of the shrine is
Fr. Paul Bergeron (a retired priest of the Diocese of Lafayette, LA).  Fr. Paul was born and now lives in Houma, LA.  The administrator of the shrine is Mary Helpers, Inc. from Marrero, Louisiana.  Together they have faithfully served Our Lady and the visitors to the shrine, that is named after Her in the title of Our Lady of Compassionate Protection, since March 17, 1996.  To read a short narrative of how this additional mystery began at the shrine in 1998, please click here.  To find out more about the monthly operations of the shrine click on the Mary's Helpers link above.

A little background about sixth decades:  A sixth mystery to the rosary was a part of Our Lady's visits to Lourdes in 1858.  To see the rosary that hung on St. Bernadette's wall in her home, please click
here.  To hear and read two excellent presentations about the Carmelite Six Decade Rosary, prayed at Lourdes, please click here  and here.  For another beautiful blog on the history and the praying of the Briggitine Rosary, please click here.

This latest practice (that has come forth from extreme South Louisiana and solely from the Shrine of Our Lady of Compassionate Protection, in Houma, LA, in May of 1998) is certainly not to replace or compete with the Briggitine Rosary that has been prayed for years around the world.  If you are inclined to pray the Briggitine or Carmelite Rosary, please continue to do so.  Just discern whether, at least at times, maybe the Lagniappe Decade should be prayed as well.  It is so simple a practice.

If you have an interest to learn how the shrine came to exist on March 17, 1996 and/or how the title of Our Lady of Compassionate Protection began, please listen to the powerful testimony of Lou Saia by clicking on these videos produced by
Cajun Miracles Podcast from Houma. LA:

Part 1
                                                      Part 2
                                                      Part 3

In this case, the long-standing Briggitine Rosary (with its six decades) simply confirmed to us that the Louisiana sixth decade rosary, as given at the shrine, was to now be prayed - asking for His Glorious Return!  If you are ever inclined to pray for His Glorious Return and the Triumph of Her Immaculate Heart, try this one additional decade to the rosary you are praying now!  There is no downside to this simple request.  And, who can seriously argue against the fact that we certainly need the Light of Jesus in this dark world?  TODAY AND NOW!

A confirmation to this practice came along approximately four years after May 17, 1998, when on October 16, 2002, Pope John Paul II, unexpectedly, gave the Church an Apostlic Letter titled, Rosarium Virginus Mariae, introducing the Mysteries of Light.  Praise God, "The Light" is Returning into the darkness of the world! If you would like to read this letter, please click here.   The five Mysteries of Light only confirmed this one last decade asking for His Light to shine!

A question to ponder:  Could the Papal Letter in 2002 have been a "fruit" of the "Lagniappe" Decade started in 1998?

Again, this practice of praying six decades is simply using a normal five decade rosary and then praying one additional decade at the end of the present glorious mysteries.   Title this last decade: The Glorious Return of Jesus (The Light Returns into the Darkness of this World)!

His Glorious Return fulfills the redemptive plan of God.  His "Holy Light" will dispel and overcome all darkness in this world when He returns!  His return will also immediately validate Our Lady's standing as the Mother of God and Queen of Heaven and Earth as well as Her desire for Her Children on earth to bring forth life...not death. To see how She
profoundly and openly announced that darkness upon and to America on April 8, 2024, please visit another page on this website by clicking here.  That was a very important Announcement to America from Her!  Is American listening - even as much as the Aztecs listened in 1531?

All the above is tremendously consistent with scripture and especially
Rev. Chapter 22, as we close the Holy Scriptures by calling for His return.  When praying with that scripture chapter, and looking at the symbolism within it, recall and ponder the narrative within this page of this website as to how God created this land of Louisiana over eons of time to be used in these times, as we move toward the year 2033!  Many pieces are coming together!

Question:  What are the duties of each Louisiana-connected Catholic/Christian during these times?  Pray seriously about that!

Addiionally, all the above is also very consistent with and complimentary to this very powerful and fruitful movement of God, that has been residenced in the Diocese of Lafayette, Louisiana for many years, led by Fr. Conley Bertrand, its Director and Founder:

COME, LORD JESUS!

By praying the rosary for the Glorious Return of Jesus, we are praying and preparing the Church and the World toward the exact trial that is written about in the Catechism of the Catholic Church - The Church's Ultimate Trial (
Paragraphs 675-677).
