   Note:  St. Bridget Catholic Church Parish (location of statue shown above) was the diocesan parish where Fr. Simon Peter Engurait was residenced, when he learned that he was to become Bishop Simon Peter Engurait, of the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux.  Bishop Engurait is the first African-born Bishop to be assigned to mainland America. 

 

   From one of the first papal actions of Pope Leo XIV, came forth at a very healing installation ceremony in Thibodaux, Louisiana on Friday, September 5, 2025.  That ceremony could never have been foreseen, when considering the life and times of William Joseph Seymour, a Black Catholic man from St. Mary Parish, Louisiana, approximately 150 years earlier.

THE GLORIOUS RETURN OF HER SON, JESUS!
     "The Light" Returns into the darkness of this World!   
                                         
   Before beginning with this chapter, please click here to see the "Wave of Prayer" that is trying to sweep across the nation.  It is with a centuries-old love and dedication for the conventional rosary that we now present the narrative below about a Louisiana-grounded rosary, that began on a beautiful day in May of 1998 in Houma, Louisiana.  All to in part help to facilitate the Glorious Return of Jesus! 

   We shall need a great amount of Holy Spirit grace to deal with what is coming!  Turning away from the darkness and coming completely under His revealing light will not be a comfortable place, at times.  The Holy Spirit will always tend to move us toward the Eucharistic Jesus - the essence of all light!  The Holy Spirit can also prepare us for that fateful meeting.  (see Luke 12:2-3)

2 There is nothing concealed that will not be revealed, nor secret that will not be known.

3 Therefore whatever you have said in the darkness will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered behind closed doors will be proclaimed on the housetops.

   Pay attention and look to the heavenlies!  Our Lady gave a clear warning to America to do just that on Monday, April 8, 2024 (the Solemnity of the Annuciation that year).  To see more of the details about that warning in the heavens, that has been greatly ignored by most of America, please click here. 

 

   Those heavenly warnings continue through 2025.  They are much like what occured from May through October in 1917, in Fatima and the time that followed, when Our Lady was allowed to warn the world about serious events to come...and they did come!  Too see a little about the latest warnings in 2025, please click here.   To see a little about Fatima's warnings in, and after 1917, please click here.  There are numerous websites available for further research.

   To the point at hand, the praying of the Sixth Glorious Mystery of Our Lady's Rosary, to specifically plead for Her Son's return into the darkness of this present world, began at the "Our Lady of  Compassionate Protection" Shrine site in Houma, LA on May 17, 1998.  (This additional decade, that began that day, is also called the "Lagniappe Decade".)

   There is no doubt that upon Jesus' return, the whole world will know, with certainty, that His Mother is truly "Queen of Heaven and Earth", as has been prayed for hundreds of years by the Fifth Glorious Mystery.  When He returns in His Glory, it will then be known to all that "Queen of Heaven and Earth" is not just some symbolic title given to Our Lady by a few extreme devotees of Her rosary.  No, it will then be fully realized, by all, that She truly is the Mother of Jesus - the Mother of God - a Mother of Life to all! 

   She is a Mediatrix of, and to, the graces Her Son released by His life, His death on a cross and His rising from the death three days later!  The Catechism of the Catholic Church and Holy Scripture declares Her Greatness!  To read that, please click here. 

   This Sixth Glorious Mystery is an additional decade of the rosary that is optional.  But, when prayed with faith, it is believed that it greatly pleases Our Lady, and is also believed to be very efficacious to facilitating the glorious return of Her Son.  A date many are waiting for with fear and expectation!  

   Think about it!  Can Jesus really refuse such a request to return when Her rosary is faithfully prayed by Her Little Ones?  The Holy Rosary - an obedient act of prayer that His Holy Mother has repeatedly asked to be prayed for many years.

   Does Jesus respond to His Perfect Mother?  Of course He does!  Remember the interaction between Jesus and His Mother at the wedding in Cana in the Gospel of John 2: 1-12.  He could not refuse Her when She requested help for Her Children in distress or crisis.  Help was needed, She requested, and He responded.  He will again respond to Her now, as well, if we faithfully pray this new decade of Her rosary in faith.  The world needs His return!  We pray, Come, Lord Jesus!  Bring your Light into this world!  

   The spiritual director of the Our Lady of Compassionate Protection Shrine, in Houma, LA, is Fr. Paul Bergeron (is a retired priest of the Diocese of Lafayette, LA).  Fr. Paul was born in Houma and is now retired in Houma.  The administrator of the shrine is Mary Helpers, Inc. from Marrero, Louisiana.  Also, assisting at the shrine are members of the Servite Order.

   This latest practice (that has come forth from extreme South Louisiana and from the Shrine of Our Lady of Compassionate Protection) in 1998, is certainly not one to replace or compete with the long-standing Briggitine Rosary - that has been prayed for years around the world for certain expressed reasons.  If you are inclined to pray the Briggitine or Carmelite Rosary, as it has been prayed for years, please continue to do so. 

   For now, just discern whether, at least at times, maybe the one additional "Lagniappe Decade" should be prayed as well.  We are in special times.  It is so simple a practice.  It is a special decade.  And what is this additional and final decade to be prayed for?

                THE GLORIOUS RETURN OF JESUS! 

   If you simply allow the Holy Spirit move you to pray it occasionally, after a while, you will see this new practice may grow in your heart!  Why?  At least because we need more of Jesus in the world in these times.  The Lagniappe Decade will hasten Him to our help in these times!

   In this case, of considering this additional decade, amd its efficacy, that came from actions at this shrine in May of 1998, the long-prayed Briggitine Rosary (that had already included six decades) actually confirmed, that the Louisiana sixth decade rosary was to also now be prayed - asking for His Glorious Return!  The events around the statue of Our Lady of Lourdes, at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Schiever, LA (above), on July 23, 1998, the Feast of St. Bridget of Sweden are undeniable.  Time to pray the Lagniappe Decade is here!

   If you are ever inclined to pray for the Triumph of Our Lady's Immaculate Heart and the simultaneous Glorious Eucharistic Return of Jesus, try this one additional decade to the rosary you are now praying!  It is so simple and powerful!  There is no downside to this request.  Who can seriously argue against the fact that we certainly now need the Light of Jesus in this dark world?

   A serious confirmation to this new practice of an additional decades related to "light" came along approximately four years after May 17, 1998, when on October 16, 2002, Pope John Paul II, unexpectedly, surprised the Church with an Apostlic Letter titled, Rosarium Virginus Mariae, that introduced the Mysteries of Light! 

   Praise God!  "The Light" is returning into the darkness of this world!  The new Mysteries of Light only further confirmed, at that time and now, that the Lagniappe Decade, that asked in 1998 for His Light to return and shine in this dark world, was indeed very appropriate and efficacious!
 
   In actual practice, the praying of the six decades is simply using a normal five decade rosary and then praying one additional decade at the end of the present glorious mysteries.  It is no harder or more complicated than that!   One would title this last decade: The Glorious Return of Jesus (The Light Returns into the Darkness of this World)!  Come, Lord Jesus!    

   His Glorious Return fulfills the redemptive plan of God.  When Jesus returns, His "Holy Light" will dispel and overcome all darkness in this world!  It is what His Church seeks in expectation! His return will also immediately validate Our Lady's standing as the Mother of God and Queen of Heaven and Earth as well as Her desire for Her Children on earth to bring forth life...not death.  She can be called our Mother of Life - a life that is everlasting!

   To revisit how She recently, profoundly and openly announced on April 8, 2024 the existence of the present darkness upon and to America, please visit another page on this website, that introduces you to that heavenly event, by clicking here.  That was a very important "Announcement" or "Warning" to America from Her!  She is doing all She can to show America examples of the darkness we must immediately turn away from.  Is America listening to Her as the Aztecs listened to Her in 1531?  Does not look like it.

   All this is also perfectly in line with Her messages as "Our Lady of America" where She requests that our youth live in purity.   South Louisiana is a "safe place" for the devotion to Her in the name of "Our Lady of America" to be practiced by Her youth!  A famous statue of Her resides in Thibodaux, LA.  

   Note:  Consider making a pilgrimage to the original, and the 1993 Denver World Youth Day statue of Our Lady of America, as designed by Sr. Mildred, that is located at St. Thomas Aquinas Church at Nicholls State University Campus in Thibodaux, LA.  Please note:  Each Monday at 3:00 pm prayers are prayed for America (and more) before that statue.  All are welcome! 

   All the above is tremendously consistent with scripture and especially Rev. Chapter 22, as we close the Holy Scriptures by calling for Jesus' return.  When praying with that scripture chapter, as we move through the year of the Great Novena toward Pentecost 2033, consider how many pieces are coming together in readying ourselves for His Glorious Return - and now with a Pope having maternal generational routes from Louisiana!  Who could have ever imagined!

   Additionally, all the above is also very consistent with, and complimentary to, this very powerful and fruitful movement of God, that has been residenced in the Diocese of Lafayette, Louisiana for many years, led by Fr. Conley Bertrand, its Director and Founder:

                              COME, LORD JESUS!

    By praying the rosary for the Glorious Return of Jesus, we are praying and helping to prepare the Church and the World for the exact trial that is written about in the Catechism of the Catholic Church - The Church's Ultimate Trial (Paragraphs 675-677).

   Note and update:  At the USCCB General Assembly in November of 2025, in Baltimore, the United States Bishops voted to approve the consecration of America to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, on the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on Friday, June 12, 2026.  Please note this liturgical day and the two blessings of America, that were made on the same liturgical day in 2001 and 2022.  We thank Our Lady, under the title of Our Lady of America, for leading Louisiana Catholics (and others) to carryout those Random Acts of Faith ahead of this 2026 consecration.  Those two "water blessings of America" can be learned about by going to this chapter page of the Spiritual Bulletin Board of Louisiana.  Our Lady leads the way through the hearts and actions of Her Children!
